One thing we know for sure is that planning a wedding during 2020 has been a challenge! that includes the uncertainty of when and if wedding ceremonies would be allowed, thankfully they now are. Whether wedding receptions would be possible, they now are too, with restrictions.

As the 'new normal' people talk of is becoming 'more normal' in our every day lives, we must remember that love conquers and your wedding will be as emotional as you hoped. Do not lose sight of what your wedding dreams and ideas are. At the 4Counties Wedding Directory we have suppliers and venues ready to help make that dream a reality.

We have noticed that couples who have had to postpone their wedding day are using the extra time wisely. More time equals possibility more savings and opportunities to think of fabulous extras. You could now be able to include suppliers and services you couldn't before; a wedding planner, a videographer, a Toastmaster or a flower wall, a photobooth, a make up artist or venue stylist; we even have Joey the confetti pony listed on our Directory - now who wouldn't want that!

There may have to be slight adjustments due to guidelines or legislation and intimate weddings have become highlighted more now that ever before.

What does intimate mean to you?

By scaling back on guest numbers it could open up the opportunities to upscale on other areas of the wedding day.

You could be scaling up on your flowers or styling for the day - this does not increase your number if suppliers are onsite and preparing before you arrive.

If you are a real foodie, look at the quality of the produce and the number of courses or the wines, you could employ a personal chef for smaller numbers, upgrade the wines list or have a specific meal that fits your theme or style.

You could think about your entertainment and musical enjoyment; currently there are restrictions however maybe a musical duo or trio or singer or magician would work for you.

Find fun ways to incorporate Covid-Secure procedures, we have seen some ingenious ways of using personalised masks and including colour coded wristbands to make it clear who wants to stay at a distance and who is happy to arm bump.

Look at hiring a marquee for more space or asking your photographer what services they can add on. Stationery and favours could be more detailed or personalised for the fewer guests you have.

How about your honeymoon? this is the time to ask a travel consultant to look at the options available, they will have all the up to date rules and regulations in place too.
